As part of the Singapore's Government Recession Rescue plan, SPUR was introduced in January 2009.
SPUR or Skills Program for Upgrading and Resilience, is an enhanced funding support scheme developed by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency.
SPUR helps companies affected by declining business to retain workers by sending them for training. With the enhanced funding support, employers can better manage their excess manpower during the downturn, save on manpower costs and at the same time build stronger manpower capabilities for the future.
Under SPUR, all training programs are heavily funded.
As a result, the net cost to the company is better than zero (i.e. you make money, not spend money).

For attendees above 40 years old with A level qualifications and below:
Course Fee $321.00 (inclusive of GST)
SDF Funding -$256.00
Net Payable $ 65.00
Absentee Payroll SRP-$160
Net Fee (Income to You) $95 (this means there is actually no expense and your company make a profit from this).
For those below 40 years old, the net income to you is $15.
All funding is for Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents.
